Lilac 94 Goes to Brooklyn

Christina Brier and Kathryn Sloat of Lilac 94 aren’t your grandmother’s harpists. Brier and Sloat hit their soundboards, pound their harps with mallets, slap their strings, and in general make a ruckus.” -Star News of Wilmington, NC

As harp duo Lilac 94, Christina Brier and Kathryn Sloat play a wide variety of styles, from contemporary classical to arrangements of older classical works to Bollywood covers. They are especially interested in commissioning new music and bringing unknown works to light. This program represents a great cross-section of their music.

Carlos Salzedo: Pentacle
Rebecca Larkin: The Juniper Tree
George Gershwin: Porgy and Bess
Bollywood songs
Bret Bohman: Swirl
Bret Bohman: Foglifter
Daniel Morel: KC Blue
Sufjan Stevens: Chicago
