CALL FOR CURATORS 2017-18
CALL FOR CURATORS
This summer, ensemble mise-en will launch the CURATOR PROGRAM — appointing several curators to program events during the 2017/18 season. The curation series will present 2 concerts per month from October thru May. Each curator will have the opportunity to draw from his or her artistic Rolodex and/or formulate new collaborations, with the ensemble’s approval.
Those selected as curators will be expected to work in accordance with ensemble mise-en’s mission — creating concert experiences that exemplify the depth and diversity of contemporary music. In return, each will receive full access to the ensemble’s space and resources, as well as 100% of his or her respective concert proceeds. For event promotion, we will send an email to our list of over 2,000 subscribers, but we will rely on the curator to do most of the promotion for their event.
In late 2014, ensemble mise-en opened MISE-EN_PLACE in Bushwick, Brooklyn. A rehearsal, office and performance + project space, MISE-EN_PLACE principally hosts ensemble mise-en rehearsals, meetings, and the ACOUSTIC+ and SOLOIST concert series and COLA Project. The space includes a variety of equipment to aid in concert production including; visual/audio equipment, a baby grand piano, and percussion equipment (for a full list of equipment, please contact via email Josh Perry firstname.lastname@example.org or Mark Broschinsky email@example.com).
In your application, please include:
1) A description of the event you are interested in presenting, with a program if applicable.
2) General dates you are interested in presenting your concert (i.e. early spring, Jan-Feb., etc.)
3) What are the needs from the venue for your event.
4) The expected time length of your performance.
After curators are selected, we will discuss dates for each presenter’s event.
Applications must be submitted by July 1st, 2017 (11:59P EST)
Curator selections are expected by July 15, 2017
